Minster Church of St George Doncaster

(D2 A)    Saint George Minster lies at the heart of Doncaster. It was consecrated in 1858

Built between 1854 -1858

 

 

 

(D2 B)    The Architect of the church was Sir George Gilbert Scott and it took almost five years to complete

Hyde Park Cemetery. Doncaster
Opened 1856

 

 

This isolated Victorian cemetery is currently in a derelic condition
A slow restoration programme is currently under way

(D2 K)    The Chapel of rest. This is the oldest municipal cemetey in Doncaster

There are at least 16,494 burial plots
The provision of new plots ceased in 1986

with the burial service taking place elsewhere
